What is a Clinical Research Study?

Clinical research studies (also called trials) are conducted to gather information regarding the safety and effectiveness of new drugs and/or medical devices. There are several steps and stages of approval in the clinical study process before a drug or device can be sold to or used by consumers.

Doctors who run clinical studies are called ‘Investigators’. They are required to submit the data obtained from the study for approval from the FDA.

Your participation in any clinical research study is strictly voluntary. In this study participants receive:

  • Access to an active role in Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) research
  • Study-related medical check-ups
  • Health information
  • Additional time with health professionals

This study may be appropriate if you:

  • Are an adult with narrowing in a major artery in your leg
  • Are able to attend clinic visits in your area
  • Meet other entry criteria
